On Monday, November 16, 2009, FGWA President Pat Partridge, FGWA Executive Director Leigh Ann Bradley, FGWA Lobbyist Phil Leary, FGWA Directors Wayne Smith, JD Kemp, Ben Huss as well as several members of the FGWA Environmental Committee had the pleasure of meeting with Governor Charlie Crist.
This gathering was held as a fund raising event for the Governor Crists Senatorial campaign and to pass on some information to the Governor about the Inland Protection Trust Fund. The meeting was held at the Governors Club in downtown Tallahassee near the Capitol. Governor Crist spent an hour with the FGWA members discussing topics of our concern, his past challenges at the Florida Capitol and his plans for Washington D.C.
The Governor was very appreciative of our fund raising effort and seemed genuinely concerned about the future of Floridas Aquifer. The meeting was extremely positive and Governor Crist told FGWA Lobbyist Phil Leary that he would like to schedule a follow meeting with the Florida Ground Water Association in the coming weeks to discuss Inland Protection Trust Fund (IPTF) and FDEP cleanup program in more detail.
FGWA would like to thank all of those members that contributed to Governor Crists Senatorial campaign, as well as those who took time out of their busy schedule to attend this meeting with Governor Crist.
